McDonald’s is throwing a breakfast party for the 50th anniversary of the Egg McMuffin, and they’re inviting everyone with an appetite.
Whether you’re a longtime McMuffin loyalist or just someone who can’t resist a breakfast bargain, the Golden Arches are serving up major deals to mark the occasion.
$1 Egg McMuffins for National Egg McMuffin Day
March 2 is National Egg McMuffin Day, because when your breakfast sandwich changes the game, you get your own holiday.
To celebrate, McDonald’s is offering $1 Egg McMuffins and Sausage McMuffins with Egg, but there’s a catch—it’s an app-exclusive deal. Just order through the McDonald’s App, and you’re in.
BOGO McDelivery deals all month long
If one McMuffin isn’t enough (spoiler: it never is), McDonald’s has you covered.
From March 3 to March 30, McDelivery customers ordering through the McDonald’s App can enjoy a buy one, get one free Sausage McMuffin with Egg. So whether you’re treating a friend (or just doubling up), breakfast just got twice as satisfying.
Bagel sandwiches go nationwide
McDonald’s is making bagel sandwiches available nationwide for the first time.
That means whether you’re craving the Bacon, Egg & Cheese Bagel or the beloved Steak, Egg & Cheese Bagel, you no longer have to wonder if your local McDonald’s carries them. They do now.
McDonald’s keeps breakfast affordable amid rising egg prices
Egg prices have skyrocketed thanks to bird flu outbreaks causing nationwide shortages.
While some restaurants (looking at you, Waffle House) have added egg surcharges, McDonald’s is standing firm. Michael Gonda, Chief Impact Officer for McDonald’s North America, wrote on a LinkedIn post that the restaurant won’t be adding extra charges to egg-based menu items, keeping its breakfast deals affordable despite market trends.
McDonald’s is going big on breakfast
On top of the anniversary celebration, McDonald’s is expanding Krispy Kreme doughnuts to more locations, with plans for nationwide availability by 2026.
So if your dream breakfast involves an Egg McMuffin, a hash brown, and a glazed doughnut, you won’t have to wait much longer.
The Egg McMuffin: A breakfast legend turns 50
Invented in 1971 by McDonald’s franchisee Herb Peterson, the Egg McMuffin was designed to put Eggs Benedict in a sandwich—because forks slow people down. Since then, it has become the gold standard of fast-food breakfasts.
“We’re all about giving our customers the best start to their day,” said McDonald’s USA President Joe Erlinger. “Our fans know they can always count on us for a one-of-a-kind breakfast experience, anchored in great value and high-quality ingredients.”
So whether you’re celebrating with a $1 McMuffin, a BOGO McDelivery deal, or a newfound bagel obsession, one thing’s for sure: breakfast at McDonald’s isn’t going anywhere.
